Requirements For All CJROTC Instructors:
CJROTC Instructor Eligibility & Professional Standards

To be considered for a CJROTC Instructor position, applicants must meet the following qualifications, standards, and requirements:

Military Service Requirements

Must have received one of the following discharges:

Honorable Discharge

Retirement

Medical Discharge
(Discharge must have occurred within the last 20 years from the date of application.)

Must possess a valid DD214.

Must have completed at least one deployment of six (6) months or longer.

Must have completed at least one full enlistment term.

Physical Standards

Must be physically capable of running and participating in required physical training components.

Must be able to demonstrate physical readiness during drills, competitions, regimental events, and field activities.

Must maintain professional military bearing and appearance standards at all times.

Leadership & Professional Expectations

Must demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Must be capable of teaching structured curriculum and managing a classroom environment effectively.

Must be willing to teach both leadership curriculum and real-life skills training.

Must be willing to participate in after-school activities, regimental events, competitions, community service, and program functions.

Must complete the CJROTC Instructor Course prior to the start of the school year.

Moral & Faith-Based Standards

Must demonstrate high moral character and integrity.

Must be a professing Christian.

Must support and uphold the Christian mission and faith-based foundation of the CJROTC Program.

Must serve as a positive spiritual and moral role model for cadets.


Application & Clearance Requirements

Must complete and submit the official CJROTC Instructor Application.

Must pass background checks conducted by Headquarters CJROTC, including:

                                    Must meet all CJROTC onboarding and certification requirements.
 

  CJROTC Instructor Certification & Compliance Standards

  • All approved applicants assigned (TAD) to a CJROTC school must complete the CJROTC Instructor Course annually.
  • Instructor applications remain on file and valid for a period of three (3) years before expiration.
  • Background checks for applicants and instructors are conducted consistently every five (5) months.
  • Once CJROTC certified, instructors are authorized to teach at any approved CJROTC school nationwide.
    Certification must be renewed annually.

Where are CJROTC schools located?

                                                                 We service schools in all 50 states.

Are academies accepted?

Yes. We accept and service Christian schools, private schools, charter schools, and academies that meet program standards.

Are all schools accepted?

No. Not all schools are approved. All interested schools must submit an application and successfully complete the CJROTC approval process.

Are there grooming and appearance standards?

Yes. CJROTC instructors are held to high professional and grooming standards. We expect excellence and will accept nothing less.

Will becoming a CJROTC instructor affect my VA benefits?

No. VA benefits are governed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Employment as a CJROTC instructor does not alter or reduce awarded VA disability percentages.
