It All Starts With Our Mission Statement...We Build Better Individuals!
About the CJROTC Program
(JROTC of Christian Schools)
The CJROTC Program, also known as the JROTC of Christian Schools, is a leadership and character development program custom-constructed and specifically designed for Christian and private schools and academies.
While the CJROTC Program shares certain structural similarities with the Department of Defense (DoD) JROTC program, it is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense in any way. The CJROTC Program operates independently as a 100% nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
More Than a Curriculum
What is taught in the CJROTC classroom is more than an exceptional curriculum. Our instructors teach real-life skills — skills that will guide each cadet throughout their lifetime.
The lessons learned in this program are not temporary. They are foundational principles that shape character, leadership, integrity, and faith. These are lessons young men and women will remember for the rest of their lives.
The Character We Build
We teach our cadets to be:
Trustworthy
To tell the truth no matter the consequence.
To protect their name.
To keep their word.
To become individual's others can depend upon.
Loyal
Loyalty is sacred and cherished. A person without loyalty ultimately betrays themselves. We teach loyalty to God, family, school, and community.
Helpful
Being helpful means caring about others and giving 100% effort to serve those around you. In a world where many expect something in return, we teach:
Help now — God will bless you later.
Friendly
Friendliness is not limited to those who look like us or believe as we do. We teach respect and kindness to all — regardless of size, shape, race, or religion.
Courteous
Politeness and good manners matter. We teach cadets to show respect regardless of age, position, or status. Good manners will take you further than the eye can see.
Kind
Kindness is strength. True strength is treating others the way you want to be treated — even when it isn’t returned.
Obedient
Rules and regulations exist for safety and stability. While it is acceptable to disagree with a rule, we teach that one must obey it until they are in a position to change it in an orderly and respectful manner.
Cheerful
We teach cadets to look at the bright side of situations. Even when tasks are difficult, they are taught to approach them without complaint and to motivate others around them.
Thrifty
Cadets learn financial responsibility and stewardship. We teach saving, long-term thinking over short-term gratification, wise use of time, and conservation of resources.
Brave
It is okay to be afraid — bravery is moving forward despite fear. We teach cadets to stand firm in what is right, even when faced with criticism or unfair treatment.
Clean
We teach cleanliness of body, mind, and environment. Cadets are trained to maintain high standards, remain organized, stay physically fit, and choose positive company. We reinforce the principle that cleanliness is next to godliness, and that maintaining discipline in one’s personal habits reflects discipline in one’s character.
Reverent
Above all, we teach reverence toward God. Cadets are encouraged to be faithful in their beliefs while respecting the beliefs of others.
Our Mission
The CJROTC Program is not about uniforms alone. It is about building young men and women of faith, character, discipline, and leadership — individuals prepared to serve, lead, and make a lasting impact in their communities.

The CJROTC Three-Curriculum Model
The CJROTC Program operates on three curricula simultaneously. We are one of the only programs in
the country that delivers three structured learning models at the same time.
1. The JROTC Curriculum
Since 2005, the curriculum has been accredited as a Special Purpose Program by the national accrediting agency formerly known as AdvancED.
The curriculum provides both equitable and challenging academic content through authentic classroom and real-life learning experiences for all cadets.
The Four-Part Learning Model:
- Motivate the Cadet
- Teach New Information
- Practice Competency
- Apply Competency to Real-Life Situations
This four-part model requires cadets to:
- Collaborate as a team
- Reflect on learning
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Integrate knowledge across disciplines
Subjects Include:
- Leadership
- Health & Wellness
- Physical Fitness
- Responsibility
- First Aid
- Martial Arts
- Geography
- American History & Government
- Life Skills
- Communications
- Emotional Intelligence
- Survival Skills
The curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and aligned with 21st-century education standards. It meets Common Core standards and, in many states, aligns with Career and Technical Education clusters.
Students may earn:
- Physical Education (PE) Credit
- Social Science Credit
- Elective Credit
Cadets apply what they learn both during high school and after graduation.
Participation in co-curricular activities is required to reinforce classroom instruction.
2. CJROTC Core Curriculum
The Core Curriculum focuses on physical application and hands-on leadership development.
Components Include:
- Physical Fitness Tests (PFT)
- Hikes / Ruck Marches
- Regimental Events
- Final Exams
- Community Service
Regimental Events Include:
- Air Rifle Competitions
- Drill Competitions
- Motivational Runs
- Combat Boot Mud Runs
Cadets who complete CJROTC may qualify for:
- Advanced rank if entering the U.S. Military
- Potential college credit opportunities
Even if cadets choose neither military nor college pathways, they graduate with lifelong leadership and life skills.
Four years of CJROTC participation produces students who are significantly more college and career ready.
3. Core Curriculum 2.0 – Real Life Skills
Core Curriculum 2.0 focuses on real-world preparation — similar in concept to traditional home economics or shop class, but modernized for today’s environment.
Cadets learn:
- Resume writing
- Interview preparation
- Professional dress
- Public speaking & handshakes
- Cooking basics
- Basic automotive skills (including tire changes)
- Laundry & household management
- Financial literacy
- Credit education (good vs. bad credit)
- Time management
This portion of the program prepares cadets for life after high school — whether that path leads to military service, college, trade school, or immediate workforce entry.
College Opportunities
Our instructors assist cadets in identifying colleges that offer credit for CJROTC completion.
Additionally, numerous colleges, organizations, and individuals have awarded scholarships to CJROTC cadets.
Our Impact
As one of the most comprehensive faith-based leadership programs in the country — combining God and structured military leadership principles — our quality indicators reflect our success:
- CJROTC Class Attendance: 98%
- CJROTC Cadet Graduation Rate: 99.8%
- CJROTC Cadet Indiscipline Rate: 1.2%
- CJROTC Cadet Dropout Rate: 2%
